Anyone who is interested in agricultural drainage research issues and projects is invited to the 12th Annual Drainage Research Forum to be held Tuesday, November 22, at the Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center - Okoboji, Iowa. Registration is at 8 a.m. and the program runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is jointly sponsored by Iowa State University, the University of Minnesota, and South Dakota State University.
The program will feature results and updates on drainage research and on-farm projects by university and agency research leaders from Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota. The final agenda is still being developed but the forum is likely to include discussion of biomass production strategies and the impacts on drained lands, two-stage ditch design, drainage water management, pumped outlets, as well as farmer and stakeholder perspectives.
The program is intended for all drainage stakeholders, including state and federal agency staff, county supervisors, crop consultants, academics, contractors, farmers and others interested in drainage research issues in the upper Midwest.
