B11 - Producer-oriented tillage demonstration sites for improved production efficiency and environmental quality.

Kulisky, Biological Science Technician, National Soil Tilth Laboratory, Ames, Iowa. 2004 was the 3rd growing season for a network of 8 demonstration sites across Iowa where tillage system effects on soil properties, crop growth, and production efficiency were evaluated. Field strip-scale plots of 3-5 tillage systems in corn and soybean production were monitored at each site. Annual results and cumulative performance over the project duration are interpreted with regard to measured climate variables.
