B6 - Soil conditioning index used with Conservation Security Program. What is it? How can you improve your score?

Barbara Stewart, State Agronomist, Natural Resources Conservation Service. Soil Conditioning Index (SCI) is a tool used to determine eligibility in the new Conservation Security Program. This presentation will describe the SCI and how it is used as a tool to predict the consequences of cropping systems on the trend in soil organic matter. It will also discuss the different component of the SCI and how individuals can improve there score.
