Pounds of pesticide active ingredients calculated from pesticide sales data were distributed state-wide and compared to detections of pesticides in surface and ground water. The trends over time will be discussed to provide a better understanding of pesticide movement in water. Comparisons of the pounds with crop type will also be explored and may provide insight into impaired surface water in southern Iowa reservoirs.
