Ms. Euken is the Biobased Products and Bioenergy Industrial Specialist with the Center for Industrial Research and Service (CIRAS) of Iowa State University Extension, and Assistant Director, ISU Office of Biorenewables Programs. Euken is a 26 year veteran of Iowa State University Extension Service. Euken has both B.S and M.S. degrees from ISU. Her background includes five years experience in developing producer-owned, value-added businesses in southwest Iowa. In 2002, Jill served as the leader for a DOE-funded project called Iowa Industries of the Future: BioEconomy. The project resulted in a vision and roadmap for biobased products and bioenergy industries in Iowa. Jill served as a member of Governor Vilsack's Agricultural Policy Work Group in 2001, and on the Iowa Secretary of Agriculture's Value Added Agriculture Task Force in 2002-2003. Jill was also task leader for the sustainability alliances task of a four-year, $5M, corn stover logistics (Cargill-Dow, PI) study funded by DOE by their 2003 solicitation. Jill currently serves on project teams for the Integrated Feedstock Development for Corn Stover Biomass project (3-year, $1M project funded by DOE-USDA in 2004), the Environmental Enhancement Through Corn Stover Utilization project (3-year, $2M project funded by DOE-USDA in 2006), and a the Virtual Education Center for Biorenewable Resources: Building Capacity project (2-year, $500K project funded by USDA)
